Tulane University, Tulane Law School

Tulane University, Tulane Law School Tulane University has been offering excellent environmental legal education for twenty-five years. Tulane is one of only seven law schools in the U.S. offering an Environmental Law concentration at the JD level, and one of three schools offering an LLM combining Energy and Environmental Law. The curriculum includes theory, practice, and advocacy of environmental issues, and is based on foundation courses in pollution control, natural resource law, and administrative law. Tulane's Institute for Environmental Law & Policy focuses on research in policy and on providing technical legal support for environmental reform and international development.

One of the cornerstones of our program is to offer third-year students real client practice, representing community and public interests in the Environmental Law Clinic. The Clinic is the largest faculty-supervised environmental law clinical program in the nation. Another hallmark of our programs is the strong emphasis on international environmental law.

Tulane University, Tulane Law School At Tulane Law School, we know that academics are very important – but they aren't everything. Activities going on outside of the classroom include our 35 student organizations (such as the Environmental Law Society), the publication of eight journals, including the acclaimed Environmental Law Journal, and the intra- and inter-school competition-based Moot Court program.

The School actively encourages students to do work in the field, to gain practical law experience and also to serve the community. Tulane's Public Interest Law Foundation offers grants for law students working in public interest positions, including environmental law. The School is located in the South Louisiana coastal delta – home to the country's largest river system and one-third of our remaining wetlands, and also a concentration of resource and management issues involving seafood, oil and gas, migratory birds, and navigation industries. There are a plethora of environmental law issues to experience first-hand, and we give our students the encouragement and tools they need to make a difference.
